Asia’s Hope
With a long history of genocide and unrest, Cambodia is one of the world’s poorest countries. The economy is growing, but the wealth distribution is extraordinarily unequal, leaving hundreds of thousands of poor children living with inadequate shelter, healthcare and education. For orphaned and abandoned children, the situation is dire: many find themselves homeless or working in exploitative conditions. Asia’s Hope operates 18 children’s homes serving more than 400 children in Cambodia. The children’s homes are geographically clustered, with six in Prek Eng, just outside of Phnom Penh, and twelve in Battambang, Cambodia’s second largest city, about 5 hours from Phnom Penh. For 15 years, Asia’s Hope has been guiding God’s people into courageous leadership on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable children.
