1. Pick a Plan

A reading plan provides great direction, or simply pick a book to read. The Gospel of John is an excellent starting point to discover the life and teachings of Jesus.

2. Ask Questions

Now that you’ve picked a plan, your goal in this step is to discover the timeless, unchanging truths about God and our relationship with Him.

Each day, as you study the Bible, ask these three questions about the passage you’re reading.

What is the context of this passage?

With this question, we’re building a bridge between the Bible and the world today. This also helps you understand the cultural context.

What is the context of this passage?

What does this passage teach me about God?

Through this question, we can learn who God is and who we are in Christ.

What does this passage teach me about God?

What does this passage teach me about how I should live today?

This question gives us the opportunity to be applying God’s Word to our lives today and it invites us to take action on what God is teaching us.

What does this passage teach me about how I should live today?

3. Stick With It

Trust the promise and the process. Psalm 1 promises that those who delight in the law of the Lord are like trees planted by streams of water. Regardless of how you feel each day, just stick with it.
