Ever wonder how you would share the Gospel with a friend? This is a resource we've created to help you share about life's most important relationship! We’re thrilled you want others to know more about the most important decision a person could ever make! Entering into a relationship with Jesus is the best thing you could ever do. These four statements on the next page are the basics behind what it means to follow Jesus. They are the key to beginning that relationship. To help someone get started, you can walk them through these steps.

IT’S A RELATIONSHIP WE WERE CREATED TO HAVE

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16

IT’S A RELATIONSHIP WE DON’T HAVE BECAUSE OF SIN

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

IT’S A RELATIONSHIP YOU CAN HAVE BECAUSE OF JESUS

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 1 Peter 3:18

IT’S A RELATIONSHIP YOU MUST CHOOSE TO HAVE

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Act 3:19

Following Jesus is as easy as ABC!

In order to follow Jesus, we need to do three simple things. We need to ADMIT our sin, BELIEVE that God can forgive us because of Jesus, and then COMMIT to following Him! Making a personal, life-changing decision is as easy as ABC!

Tip for Sharing:

Leading a person to Christ is incredibly important, but it’s only the first step. The bigger challenge is helping them grow to full devotion in Jesus Christ. A new follower needs help until he or she can walk on their own.

Be Honest - If a new follower asks questions you do not know, don’t pretend to know the answer! It’s okay to say “I don’t know.” The best option would be researching the answer with them, and you can always ask a Grace Church staff member as well!

Be Encouraged -A new follower or someone you're sharing with may not respond as you’d expect. It takes time and it’s not on your shoulders. Keep loving, nourishing, protecting, and training. Growth will take place as a new follower of Jesus allows the Holy Spirit to use God’s Word to transform him or her more into the image of God’s Son.
